If you are ever looking for puzzles that can keep 10+ people armed with smart phones busy for several hours, then I would advise looking into Def Con. It's a hacker convention that features some puzzles meant to be solved by teams over a weekend. Most of them are simple to water down for a given crowd. Google "Def Con Badge Puzzle" for some ideas. Or just check out these guys adventures: elegin.com/dc21/The puzzles surrounding Cloverfield were also neat. One part I liked was something that looked like lines of music, but had some extra bars and notes that didn't make sense. It turned out to be medieval lute chords, which if you played them were the jingle from a commercial, the brand for which was the key to another cipher, once translated into ASCII. At least, that's how I remember it and my memory is usually better then reality.
